What is a photo webcam? The ideal product for your panorama!
This overview page primarily showcases photo webcams. These represent our own proprietary technology: we convert digital SLR (DSLR) or mirrorless system cameras (DSLM) into webcams.
Thanks to long-exposure capabilities, very high resolution, and larger sensors (especially full-frame), DSLR and DSLM cameras consistently deliver visibly superior results compared to conventional IP webcams.
Photo webcams excel at producing high-quality images, particularly at dusk or night (utilizing long exposure). Standard IP cameras cannot achieve this, as they are designed for surveillance and inherently avoid long-exposure settings.
Consequently, panoramic and landscape shots are among the photo webcam's key strengths. Tourist destinations, in particular,
benefit from this technology. We have been researching and experimenting in this field for over a decade; as a result, our technology has achieved exceptional reliability, and we rank among the world's leading providers of this
technology. This overview page displays all public client installations in real-time via a dedicated portal.
Clicking on a webcam image opens that specific webcam on a separate page, typically featuring extensive archive functions, weather data, and additional information.
Using the webcam portal
In April 2026, the overview page was enhanced with a search function, a region/topic filter, and custom sorting options.
The filter and sorting functions can be accessed via the filter icon at the top.
To set a custom location using GPS coordinates, please use the "Location Settings" button in the submenu that appears. To quickly filter by search terms or regions, simply use the search bar at the top.
The search bar responds immediately to text input, regardless of where your mouse or cursor is positioned.
A quick tip on search terms: If you want to see all webcams showing Lake Chiemsee, simply enter "Chiemsee" into the search bar.
The search terms (tags) are constantly being improved!
